Description
Crossing rough waves toward victory. A guardian awakening the spirit of resolve and challenge.
A scene of high bravery where Momotaro sails across the sea to confront the ogres of Onigashima and protect his village. Dressed in his warrior armor with a “Japan’s Best” banner, he embodies absolute resolve and fearlessness. Traditionally used to inspire resilience and courage, this Hagoita serves as a protective charm to ward off bad luck in the new year. The artisan’s skill is reflected in the dynamic 3D “Oshie” relief made of high-quality silk on a paulownia wood base, capturing the spray of the waves and the hero’s steadfast gaze. This piece is a powerful symbol of justice and the spirit to face adversity head-on. By displaying this during the New Year, the family prays for the child’s strength and the ability to sail through life’s challenges with confidence.
