Fujiki Crafts Industry Co., Ltd (Fujiki Kougei Sangyo) has been a pioneer in safeguarding the essence of Japanese tradition through exceptional craftsmanship. Founded in Yame, Fukuoka, the home of lanterns and tea, our 100 years journey becoming the biggest supplier of Japanese festival products is a testament to the enduring power of culture and innovation.
We also operate our own retail store, Yame Ningyou, along with one of the largest privately owned doll museums in Japan (The Yame Doll Museum), housing over 1,600 items dating back to the Edo period—many of which were generously donated. Among the most notable is a set of Hina dolls originally owned by Princess Yuriko, daughter of Tokugawa Yoshichika, the 19th head of the Owari Tokugawa family.

Philosophy
Wishes for healthy growth of children and tender feelings of remembrance for the deceased, the annual events and festivals in our lives embody the beautiful Japanese spirit of nurturing family ties. Fujiki Crafts is dedicated to passing this festival culture to future generations through crafts like Hagoita, Hamayumi, Hina Dolls, Gogatsu Dolls, and Bon Lanterns.
Our People
At Fujiki Crafts Industry, our strength lies in the dedication and artistry of our team. Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Yame, Fukuoka, our artisans, designers, and collaborators work in unison to preserve and innovate traditional Japanese crafts.
1932: Fujiki Sahei Shoten was founded
Founded by Sahei Fujiki (1907-1969, age 63), the eldest son of the Fujiki family, which had been a merchant family for generations since the Edo period. Making use of his connections as a wholesaler of wooden toys, mainly to department stores in the Kyushu area, he began manufacturing and selling seasonal toys and bonbori lanterns.

1969: We had customers from all over the country!
Sahei's eldest son, Takashi Fujiki (1932-1991, age 58), moved the company to its current location, overcoming opposition from many people, saying, "From now on, our customers will be from all over the country!" With the opening of the Shinkansen in sight, he expanded the company's operations and production scale nationwide, laying the foundation for the current Fujiki Group.

1973: Osaka branch opened to expand sales in the Kansai region.

1973: Senshoku Doll Workshop was established to increase production of Hina dolls.
To enable our sales team to listen to customer feedback and quickly reflect that information in product development, and to establish a production system that can handle short-term manufacturing.
1973: Toei Kogyo was established to increase production of Hagoita and Hamayumi bows.

1975: Nippon Kogei was established to increase the production of Bon lanterns.

1979: Opened Tokyo branch to expand sales in the Kanto region.

1982: Sapporo branch opened to expand sales in Hokkaido

1988: Yame Doll Hall was established and opened to begin retail sales.
Although the company was established for the purpose of retail sales, we also directly collect information on consumer and purchasing trends and use it in product development. We also value opportunities to interact with customers.
